Our Experience
What makes Bordertown Recreation Ground special is its location. Right on the edge of a small lake, it offers nice views and a sense of quiet. We enjoyed a short walk around the lake, watching the local birdlife, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and catching the sunset. The campground is well-maintained and offers plenty of space, so you don’t feel crowded.
Rather than cooking we headed to one of the local pubs, the Woolshed Inn and had dinner there.
Bordertown Camp Recreation Lake campground is a convenient spot for a quick and easy overnight sleep if you are on a longer trip. We have used it a few times as our first stop out of Melbourne on the way to places like the Yorke Peninsula and Flinders Ranges.
