Mamanga Campground – Yanga National Park
Mamanga Campground – Riverside Camping in Yanga National Park
The Yanga National Park is on the Murrumbidgee River in NSW and is a tranquil spot to set up for a couple of nights on your travels. We set up camp on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River at Mamanga Campground. This secluded and spacious campground offers a peaceful retreat for those seeking a nature escape near Balranald, NSW.
The campground is less than a 10-minute drive from Balranald and also within 2 hours of Mungo National Park. We stopped here for a few days on our way to Mungo to chill out and catch our breath before continuing our journey. It is also the perfect place to get supplies for your Mungo Visit, where there are no supplies.

Our Experience
Mamanga Campground offers relaxing spaces by the river for a few days, the sites themselves have firepits and also picnic tables, they are also fairly spacious and in many you would be able to get a caravan, 2wd or camper trailer in.
The campground is divided into two sections – one for tents and another for caravans and motorhomes – ensuring there’s space for everyone. We loved waking up to the sounds of birdlife on the river and the wildlife in the park, whist staying we saw Emu and also Kangaroos in the campground. The river itself is perfect for kayaking, fishing, and swimming.
In Balranald, you’ll find all of the local amenities you would expect in a small town. I’d suggest that if you are heading into Mungo, you fuel up here and grab anything you need from the Supermarket or Chemist, don’t forget a coffee. Mungo does not have anywhere to get supplies!
